Company Profile Norcan Hydraulic Turbine Inc. was formed to service the hydroelectric industry in the upgrade, refurbishment, maintenance, and installation of turbines and the manufacture of new turbines and replacement components for turbines in the range of 100 kilowatts up to a capacity of 25 megawatts.

	Norcan Hydraulic Turbine Inc. is located in Eastern Ontario approximately 35 minutes from Ottawa in the town of Carleton Place. We have a 12,000 square foot manufacturing facility.

	We have the expertise to provide a complete survey and assessment of existing equipment and we offer a choice of options including the layout of costs and benefits of either repair, upgrade, or replacement of existing equipment.

Our experience with upgrades on existing sites have shown average increases in power of 15% with improved efficiency, with runner and/or distributor replacement. Norcan can also upgrade switchgear and controls to enable the station to become semi or fully automated depending upon customers' requirements.

Norcan specializes in Francis, mixed flow and axial flow Kaplan turbines. Norcan can supply the turbine or a complete electro mechanical water to wire package. In the smaller units, it is usually possible to supply the unit skid mounted making installation more economical. Units can be supplied in various configurations to best suit the civil structure.
